YA SCAVENGER HUNT!

Hi hi! Once again it's time for the YA Scavenger Hunt!!! YASH gives you a chance to check out scads of fun bonus material and enter to win like a bajillion books. If you're confused about how to play, check this site for instructions on how to hunt.

This hunt I am proud to represent the GREEN TEAM.

I'm hosting Jennifer Bardsley who is new to YASH this year. Welcome, Jennifer! I hope you have a blast :D Be sure to check out Jennifer's website because there are at least 5 pretty things in her header that I wish I had, starting with that cake. Is that red velvet?

Jennifer wrote GENESIS GIRL.  Here's a little bit more about the book:

Eighteen-year-old Blanca has lived a sheltered life. Her entire childhood has been spent at Tabula Rasa School where she's been protected from the Internet. Blanca has never been online and doesn't even know how to text. Her lack of a virtual footprint has made her extremely valuable and upon graduation Blanca, and those like her, are sold to the highest bidders.

Blanca is purchased by Cal McNeal, who uses her to achieve personal gain. But the McNeals are soon horrified by just how obedient and non-defiant Blanca is. All those mind-numbing years locked away from society have made her mind almost impenetrable. By the time Blanca is ready to think for herself, she is trapped. Her only chance of escape is to go online.

Dude! How awesome does that sound? Can you imagine what you'd be like right now if you had been shielded from the Internet your whole life? What a cool premise!

For her bonus content, Jennifer is sharing the official playlist for GENESIS GIRL. Check it out:

  1. I generally do not review on book buying sites. Maybe I should. But I prefer to keep track of my books and my feelings about them on Goodreads and my blog instead.

  2. not on amazon but definitely on goodreads!

    ReplyDelete
  3. I review every book I read on Amazon and Goodreads. I rely on reviews from others to decide if I want to read/buy a book, so I'd like to do the same for others who are looking for a book.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I usually have others tell me what to read and just go along with it

    ReplyDelete
  5. I only post reviews on Goodreads.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I leave reviews on Goodreads all the time. :)

    ReplyDelete
  7. If I remember to review I will. Mostly on GR.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I try to leave reviews on Amazon as much as possible, but I also don't like to leave really negative reviews on Amazon. I know that they matter too, and I DO leave reviews for all books, positive, negative, and middle of the road, on Goodreads, but with Amazon... I don't know, there is something about it that makes me not like to leave under 3 stars- unless I am stating a specific reason why it might not be for SOME people, but may be for others.

  9. I always review books on goodreads and my blog but only sometimes on Amazon.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I review on my blog/Goodreads and cross-post those reviews to Amazon each week regardless of if they're more positive or negative. I think Goodreads is a great site but not everyone knows about it that buys books so having reviews on retail sites helps inform readers who don't check Goodreads for reviews first!

  11. I try to review a book when I win it. I get so far behind on my reading that it takes so long to review.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I enter tons of giveaways on goodreads, and I review all of the books I win.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I leave reviews when a book really touches me, but I am one to read reviews on a book before I purchase

    ReplyDelete
  14. I don't tend to leave reviews because I don't buy books online very often (I just prefer going into a bookshop). But I do enjoy reading reviews from other people after I've read the book - to see if they thought the same as me about it.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thank you so much for the giveaway. If I feel very strongly about a book, I will review on Goodreads/Amazon, otherwise I tend to review on my blog :-)

  16. I hate to admit it, but I rarely ever leave reviews, I just never know what to write, other than I really liked this book. If I do leave a review, I will write it on GR then cross post it to Amazon.
I will skim thru other reviews if I'm not sure about a book.

  17. I review every book that I read on GoodReads, and I've recently started reviewing on Amazon as well but I have my own Book Blog that I post about books on.

    ReplyDelete
  18. don't review; not interested

    ReplyDelete
  19. I typically don't leave reviews on Amazon because I don't tend to buy books from there, except for the occasional ebook. I don't review as much now that I'm not blogging, but partaking in challenges does inspire me to leave a few sentences if the book made me feel something - good or bad. But it has to make me feel something otherwise it's indifference.

  20. I always leave reviews on Goodreads but seldom do I leave them on Amazon. The reason is, I use the site to buy books but the Goodreads I use to keep track of what I read and how much I liked them. The only time I leave them on Amazon is when it is an over-the-top ... amazing book!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I always rate books I have read but only write a review for some. Books that made an impact will always be reviewed and those that did not will just get a rating.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I normally do not leave reviews on sites such as Amazon. I always give books stars on Goodreads, and sometimes reviews. I know it's terrible, but normally I can't think of anything profound to say, so I just don't.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I sometimes leave reviews if I really loved the book. I will look through other reviews though. The Art of Lainey was a super awesome book.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I review every book I read on Goodreads and my blog http://smadasbooksmack.blogspot.com/
I will attempt to post on Amazon and B&N as well, but I may slack a little in that department

    ReplyDelete
  25. I rarely review books and if I do it is only on goodreads. It's mostly because I do not have the knack for writing, however I do love reading reviews so I am glad people write them.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I do sometimes it really just depends on how busy I am if I have the time to post a review of not.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I will review the book on amazon if I really like or really dislike the book. I'm very bad at keeping up with reviewing things but I try. Thanks for being part of the hunt!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks so much for being a part of the YA Scavenger Hunt! I love reading about new books! I don't normally do reviews; however, I will typically do star ratings on Goodreads. I do not really have a reason why I do not. I love to read though!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't review, but I probably should. I don't why, maybe because I am lazy hahaha. But I never really thought about it. I will probably start doing it now.

  30. I just started a book blog Jan of this year. I intend to write a review of all the books I read. I have read a lot but never thought of writing reviews. I just wrote my thoughts on the back pages of the books once I was done.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I write reviews for every book I read, there are a few I didn't get to, time just went by and I forget what happened in the book. I write my reviews on Goodreads and in Amazon, I don't have all my reviews on Amazon, not yet at least :-) thank you so much for this opportunity :-)

    ReplyDelete
  32. If I ever do buy books from Amazon, I will try to make it a point to leave my review on it (though with their current review policy, I might have to buy a few books... or ten...). I do leave reviews on Goodreads but honestly, if not for review copies and blog tours, I would be leaving summarised reviews with the line 'full review to come soon' and will /never/ write a full review bc procrastination.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I always try to review all books I read on Goodreads and Amazon because I look at reviews so much myself when trying to decide whether to read something or when prioritising my TBR list. I also find it really interesting to read other people's opinions and insight into the books I've read because often they make me think of things in a different light. I like to think that others read my reviews occasionally and would love if my words helped encourage people to read an author's book <3

  34. I wish I did review books on Amazon more but I just find I don't have the time for it.

  35. I don't review books I can't finish reading, mostly because I feel like crap when I do try to come up with a review for them. I hate talking about all of the things I didn't like in a book, even though a more logical side of my brain realizes that this might actually help another reader, with different tastes, to want to read that book. Other than that, I generally make it a point to review about 90% of the books that I read. The other 10% are usually books I've read a while ago and I'm not remembering enough from them to make a coherent review :P

    ReplyDelete
  36. I usually leave reviews on Goodreads and if I really like a book on Amazon. If a book isn't for me I won't review it because I don't want to bring the book rating down just because it wasn't for me.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't review much anymore. I used to write reviews for literally every book I read, but now with college schoolwork I really don't have time. If I really hated or really loved the book I may review it on GR.

  41. I generally don't, because I don't really use Amazon. I review some books on my blog, on Goodreads and on a local bookretailer's site :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I haven't review any book yet. It's something I would consider to try.

  43. I have left reviews on different sites like Amazon, Goodreads, and other trusted sites because I think it's good to let authors know when you like their books or not. It also helps other readers figure out if they would like to read that book or move on to another.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I do! Well... I have a site and I have previously posted reviews. My life got very busy very quickly and I have yet to get my life on a schedule where I can read regularly again. It's very sad. BUT I do it because I know it makes a huge difference for authors, publicity-wise. Authors tend to be some of my favorite people and I love supporting them in any way I can! Thanks for doing a bonus giveaway :) Hope you love this comment like the very best Oreo cupcake you've ever had!

  45. I review most books on goodreads. Amazon some times. What makes me decide if I'll review a book on amazon is if I truly love the book or truly hate it. For me the average ones sort of slip through the cracks of procrastination
I entered the contest as Gaby but my Google account insists on calling me Mariana So... 😊

  47. I review books that I like or if an author gave me a book for a promised review.

  48. So far I only leave a review on Amazon when I'm an advance reader for a novel. I do leave more reviews on Goodreads though! It's something I want to get better at and do more often since I know it can make quite a difference!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I usually leave reviews of books I loved on Amazon, Goodreads and especially on my blog. I like adding pictures and sometimes fan arts I made

    ReplyDelete
  50. I review everything I read on Goodreads :) I like to express my opinion and have a record of books I've read so I can remember them later and recommend them to my friends.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yes I review on my blog, goodreads, amazon and social media. I dont always review on book depository as you have to have bought the book from them. Why do I review all over - i love talking about and sharing books

    ReplyDelete
  52. I have left reviews on sites like Amazon or Barnes & Noble, but not a lot. I mainly do it for review books I've received from Netgalley, authors, publishers, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I do, on Amazon US and Amazon MX. :)

    ReplyDelete

    1. Ah, and I do because I know reviews are what (most of the times) are what help make up readers' minds wether or not to buy a book. Also, if a review reaches a certain number of reviews, it can be more visible when browsing for books.

  54. I review sometimes on amazon and goodreads

    ReplyDelete
  55. I review almost all the books I read except for the ones that I don't like one bit.
I post all my reviews on Goodreads.

    ReplyDelete
  56. i review all the books I read, at least the real ones (so i don't bother with like kids books. And i usually review them on goodreads. although i did just stat a blog, and i want to put all my reviews up

  57. I now review everything I read on Goodreads.

    1. Because I know how important the reviews are to the authors.

  58. I am horrible about leaving reviews, mostly because I'm not the best writer in the world. I leave that to y'all.

    1. But as a librarian I do recommend books to my teens. So I do more word of mouth reviews as opposed to actual written reviews.

      Delete
  59. I only write reviews when its a book that I really love and I want other people to have the amazing experience that I had with the book. If I write a review, its usually through Amazon.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I generally don't review unless I really love it. If I leave reviews, it's usually on goodreads instead of Amazon, since Amazon can be fickle.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I generally review books that I find incredible OR books that authors have requested for me to review.

    ReplyDelete
  62. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I try to review lots of books. Good or bad.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I try to review some books but rather seldom due to lack of time

    ReplyDelete
  65. I don't usually review books on bookseller websites. If I do book reviews, it's usually on goodreads.com and that's very seldom. I read almost 200 books a year and I have barely enough time to read all the books, let alone review them all!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I sometimes review books on amazon, but often find I don't have the chance. Also I sometimes have a hard time writing reviews because I'm internally often conflicted writing them. I want to be honest, but at the same time I don't like being mean. Lastly, I have a full time job and a lot of responsibilities so it is hard for me to find time to balance everything on top of trying to read a book.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I don't generally review on bookseller websites, but I've made a point of it to try to do it more. I review on my Dutch blog booknuts.nl and my English blog princessofreading.com. I also add my review to goodreads.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I review books that i really dont like or the ones i really love. But, like the others, i dont have much time to review many books

    ReplyDelete
  69. I review all the books I read on Amazon and Goodreads.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I normally leave reviews on Goodreads & NetGalley. And share them on Twitter & Google+.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I typically leave reviews when I feel really passionately about either the book as a whole or something in the book. I think if the book inspired more meh feelings then I don't feel as though I would really have enough to say. I'm also a lot more likely to post my reviews to goodreads than I am to amazon.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I try to always leave reviews for all the books that I read. If I really liked them I do it because I want to help the author. If I disliked them I do it so that people know going in that there might be elements that they dislike. I think that helps people to decide whether or not to pick up a book.

    ReplyDelete
  73. ever since one of my fave authors said that it would help if I also review on review sites or book buying sites, i cross-post my reviews in places where I have an account. it was actually my new year's resolution to review the books I've read. and i've been doing that ever since.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I used to not review books (just starred ratings) because I was reading a lot of older books with tons of reviews already, but have recently started reviewing them regardless on goodreads and Amazon.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I always review mostly on Goodreads but some on Amazon

    ReplyDelete
  76. I try to post my reviews on Amazon for books that I truly enjoy and for fellow writers, especially. I know how important they are!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I almost always review the books I read!
